Passerby was made while travelling through the Lingnan region in 2025 and 2026. Approaching the region as a visitor, Armando Milano photographed places, people and everyday details without having to compare what he saw to an existing memory of them.

 

Working in colour, the series is generally measured and composed, with an emphasis on people, objects and situations as they appeared in front of him. Rather than trying to explain the region, Passerby reflects the experience of seeing it for the first time and paying attention to what stood out along the way.
